Back to school: what a high BG feels like

What I feel when I have a high BG

  • I can’t focus. It’s not that my mind wanders to other places, it just wanders to nothing; it zones out.
  • Tired and lethargic, sometimes I don’t even have enough energy to properly put my thoughts into words
  • I don’t put effort into anything I do

What other people see when I have a high BG (written by my parents)

  • Kaelan is unfocused.
  • Instead of reading or writing, he may be vaguely looking at the horizon.
  • He has a hard time understanding what he is told if it is more than a short sentence.
  • He may read a sentence over and over again. If you speak to him, he makes you repeat things over.
  • He is vague in thoughts and expressions.
  • He speaks quickly and his speech pattern is jittery.
  • His writing is poor and not well thought out.
  • He is unable to study. He can’t write an essay or learn a lesson.
  • He forgets a lot.
  • He does not sleep well.
  • He is unable to make decisions, or when he makes them, they are poor. He may be unduly influenced by the last thing that was said.
