Ketone testing
Insurance companies normally allow cheap ketone strips that you pee on, and that go bad every 6 months. You pee on them, then compare the color to a test range and determine how bad it is. There is a better system: electronic ketone meters are much more precise and convenient, and not that expensive. Unfortunately, the strips also typically go bad every 6 months (at least the ones I use), so, either way, you need to make sure to reorder ketone strips every few months.
